Event description

This is an excellent course for beginners wanting to get the know-how on basic carpentry, including: PPE, measuring & marking, timber drilling, power sanding and cutting with a reciprocating saw, circular saw & jigsaw,. The aim is to gain valuable power tool knowledge, experience and technique so you can confidently embark on your own projects, especially with recycled materials.

Project: Artistic Garden Bench
Built entirely out of recycled timber, this simple garden bench, can be tailored to the student's design with the highly versatile power tools we'll be exploring.

What to Bring and Wear
  • Pen or pencil to take notes, paper supplied,
  • Leather work books, preferably steel capped,
  • Cotton work clothes,
  • Long hair tied back and fingernails trimmed,
  • Filtered water and basic kitchenette facilities available.

All other PPE for the class will be supplied
